Alaska Airlines to Stream Fox Sports’ ‘Big Noon’ Programs
INTROSTORYGALLERYCREDITS
Marks airline’s first-ever live-streamed sports offering.

Earlier this month, the Big Ten conference expanded to 18 teams, with four formerly Pac-10 teams – the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Southern California (USC), University of Oregon and University of Washington – all joining.

That expansion means that highly ranked teams will be meeting sooner in the season – with some match-ups only previously seen in bowl games – and that more fans will be traveling to see games.

As a result, Alaska Airlines is partnering with Fox Sports to offer travelers free streaming access to Fox’s Big Noon Saturday college football games on mainline aircraft equipped with satellite wi-fi. The partnership launches Saturday, August 31, with Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff at 10 a.m. ET and Big Noon Saturday – featuring Penn State at West Virginia – at noon ET. Both the shows and the wi-fi access will be provided for free to flyers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, including the second hour of Big Noon Kickoff and the entire game.

“We’re always looking at ways to create even more value for our guests and providing the ability to catch some of the biggest games in college football on Fox does exactly that. This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to expand our in-flight entertainment options, while giving guests the chance to follow their favorite teams on the move,” said Eric Edge, managing director of marketing and advertising, Alaska Airlines, in a statement.

Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff pregame show features host Rob Stone as well as Mark Ingram II, Matt Leinart, Urban Meyer and Brady Quinn. On August 31, the team travels to Morgantown, West Virginia for the first time ever. Broadcasters Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft are headed into their eighth consecutive season of commenting together on Big Noon Saturday.

“This unique partnership celebrates the expansion of the Big Ten and provides college football fans traveling across the country the opportunity to never miss a Big Noon Saturday matchup on Fox all season long. We couldn’t be more excited for fans to access this free custom livestream on Alaska Airlines," said Kevin McMahon, vice president, brand marketing & partnerships, Fox Sports, also in a statement.

Alaska Airlines also serves as the official airline partner of the University of Washington.
