In Open Road’s official trailer for Apple TV’s Imperfect Women, based on the novel by Araminta Hall, three women cheer their relationship over glasses of wine.

“I’m so happy to be here with the two people I love most who I feel the most loved by in all the world,” says Nancy (Kate Mara).

That sentiment comes quickly into question as it’s revealed that Nancy has been murdered. As the trailer unspools, so do many questions, mysteries and secrets.

“What the three of you had, I don’t even know what to call it but it wasn’t friendship,” says Detective Ganz (Ana Ortiz) as Mary (Elisabeth Moss) and Eleanor (Kerry Washington) are waiting to be questioned.

The series also stars Joel Kinnaman as Nancy’s husband, Robert; Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., Audrey Zahn, Jill Wagner, Rome Flynn, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Violette Linnz, Indiana Elle, Jackson Kelly, Keith Carradine, Wilson Bethel and Sherri Saum.

Annie Weisman created the series for television and also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The limited series is also executive produced by Moss and Lindsey McManus, who initially optioned the book, via their production company Love & Squalor Pictures. Washington executive produces for her Simpson Street banner alongside Pilar Savone. Author Hall serves as executive producer along with writer Kay Oyegun. Lesli Linka Glatter serves as director and executive producer of episodes one, four and five.

The eight-episode series makes its global debut on Apple TV on Wednesday, March 18, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through April 29
