Superfans of Fox’s 1990s sci-fi hit, The X-Files, need look no further than streaming free TV platform Pluto TV to find all 11 seasons, either on demand or on its dedicated 24/7 linear channel.
But those who believe they are the ultimate fan can prove it by entering Pluto TV’s contest to win “The Fan Is Out There” experience. To enter, players need to submit a video explaining why they should be selected. The winner and their chosen investigation partner will be flown out. Once on the ground, they’ll be taken to a bunker in California’s Joshua Tree desert where unexplained phenomena have been reported for decades. There, in an experience designed for immersion, the pair will spend nine days (April 19-29) marathoning the entire series.

While at the location, they also will be provided with:
- A living case board to track patterns, connections, and conspiracies across all 218 episodes;
- Themed provisions including black coffee, sunflower seeds, and paranormal paraphernalia;
- Meals and beverages;
- Daily on-camera debriefing confessionals for social documentation; and
- Classified details still under wraps.
"At a moment when conspiracy culture has moved from fringe forums to mainstream discourse, The X-Files lands differently today," said Will Gurman, SVP, content partnerships and programming for Pluto TV, in a statement. "This cult classic pioneered binge-worthy, supernatural storytelling and built one of TV's most passionate fan communities. With the entire series always available and totally free, it's a show you can disappear into for days. This is exactly the kind of deep library comfort viewing Pluto TV was built for."
