As the Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts & Sciences (GEMA), we recognize that the heart of our organization has long been rooted in television - especially local television, which remains an essential thread in the fabric of community connection, news, and entertainment.

We also know this is a time of change. Teams are leaner, resources are tighter, and the industry continues to shift in unprecedented ways. This is not a moment to retreat. It’s a moment to come together.

GEMA would like to invite you to a Virtual Town Hall for the Local Television Marketing Community, a space to come together, connect with peers, and hear how others in the industry are navigating today’s challenges and opportunities.

Your takeaway: fresh perspective and connection with colleagues across the industry.

GEMA’s takeaway: to listen and learn how we can support the local television community in meaningful and valuable ways, even if it begins with small steps.

Rick Lewchuk is a four-time Emmy Award-winning marketing visionary with more than four decades of experience shaping some of the most recognized brands in news, sports, and entertainment. In 2023, he founded Film At 11 Marketing, a consultancy dedicated to empowering broadcast marketers and their teams to reach their full creative and strategic potential.

Lewchuk is best known for his decade-long tenure as Senior Vice President, Creative Marketing and Brand Standards for CNN Worldwide, where he spearheaded brand messaging, on-air promotion, and integrated marketing campaigns for CNN, CNN International, CNN en Español, HLN, CNN Go, and CNN Digital. Under his leadership, CNN’s marketing team was named Global Marketing Team of the Year by GEMA (formerly Promax) for six consecutive years, and his campaigns earned Emmys for Outstanding Promotional Announcement in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2020.

Prior to CNN, Lewchuk served nearly 20 years in senior leadership roles at CTV and Bell Media, Canada’s leading multimedia company. As SVP of Bell Media Agency and Brand Strategy, he oversaw marketing for two broadcast networks, 28 television stations, and 34 cable networks, with his team earning GEMA's (formerly Promax’s) Global Marketing Team of the Year in his final year. Earlier, as SVP of Program Planning and Promotion for CTV, he was instrumental in creating and launching enduring brands such as The Comedy Network, CTV News Channel, and Business News Network, and introducing Canadian audiences to MTV and E!

Lewchuk began his career in local television, rising from promotion manager to Director of Marketing for Baton Broadcasting, Canada’s largest station group at the time. Today, he continues to champion the power of creativity as the foundation of exceptional marketing.
