Los Angeles Dodgers fan Ice Cube gets to live his dream of playing for his favorite team in this Opening Day spot produced for NBC and Peacock by Wavemaker Creative. Cube scarcely knows anyone else is even in Dodger Stadium as blasts a homerun out of the park with fireworks exploding overhead as he runs the bases – until first baseman Freddie Freeman interrupts his reverie.

Below is a behind-the-scenes look at how Wavemaker produced the spot:
Major League Baseball aired on NBC Sports from 1957 until 2000. It then departed the network for more than two decades, returning in 2022 when Peacock began streaming exclusive Sunday morning games.
NBCUniversal's newest Major League baseball agreement, which kicked in at the start of this season, includes exclusive packages across NBC, NBCSN, and Peacock, with primetime's Sunday Night Baseball, a Peacock-exclusive MLB Sunday Leadoff package of games (many of which will also be presented on NBCSN) followed by a Sunday afternoon whip-around show, an exclusive "Opening Day" primetime game on March 26 between the Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, a new Labor Day primetime tradition, and the post-season’s Wild Card round.
Sunday Night Baseball joins NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Football with the NFL and Sunday Night Basketball with the NBA to deliver major sports on Sunday nights in primetime all year round, marking a broadcast network first.
